To Stocktake in a world of change....
Back in the 'good old days' there was no alternative but to stocktake with pens and paper and manually created reconciliation sheets. At that time the only 'modern technology' was the occasional calculator.
But times have changed.....
Many clients have fully bar-coded stock, which means we can now stocktake using enables the use of HHTs (Hand Held Terminals – or Scanners), to collect fully itemised information about the stock held. All a client has to do is provide us with a file containing Barcode information, and by loading this into our bespoke DRAMS (Data Recording And Manipulation System), stocktake reports and spreadsheets can be created quickly and passed on to the client. Indeed, once a format has been established, check sheets and management reports can be printed or emailed before our staff (who are of course fully equipped with their own HHTs, Laptops and Printers) leave the site.
And times are still changing.....
Updates to the DRAMS system are continually being implemented, in response to client requests, and improvements identified by both management and staff. Stocktake practices are also under constant review, and new technology (e.g. Digital cameras for compliance auditing) is incorporated as soon as a need has been identified.
